the thing is, the livid dagger I use is a bit over the top for what other people would like to spend on one for, and I don’t think a normal 5 star normal enchantment livid dagger could face off against the one I use because it’s admittedly way too overupgraded
What you have is a normal livid dagger, it’s not overupgraded at all.
In fact, it’s missing fumings, which people often have even on a livid dagger
The only unusual thing is the swarm 5

Personally, this is just my whole reasoning around me having weird suggestions. I love to try unorthodox and stupid combinations, because I think finding out a new setup is way more fun than grinding for a giant’s sword and 3/4 necron’s armor with golden/diamond head like every other player, this game should feel more unique because if you play the game along with the “meta” you are just basically throwing s**t at a wall because you’re just doing the same thing as everyone else is doing, which is fine but you shouldn’t judge someone’s opinion especially when you haven’t tried it
If I was doing what everyone else was doing, I would have bought a hype a long time ago. I am doing my own thing, it’s just not as wildly different as yours is. And the fact is, my way is worse than the normal way. It’s a flaw in skyblock’s design, not a flaw in players for getting specific gear. There is no diverse meta because a few items are objectively better in every situation. If you want that to change, you should suggest ways to fix that, not say players are boring because they’re getting the best items.

For me, I’ve tried all sorts of stupid setups, whether it’s my mender’s crown berserker strategy or my frozen blaze lcm setup or my end stone sword swapping method to do upwards to 13m damage in dungeons.
Which is fine. The point is, most of them are, as you called them, stupid setups. If they work, cool, but you can’t claim they should be meta just because they work. If you described your berserk setup as a weird setup that worked better than you expected rather than “the most overpowered late game berserker setup in the game,” it would have been received much more positively.

I think this game should have a more free way to play instead of “oomba goomba me get carry to f5, me buy shadow assassin and livid dagger, oomba goomba me get carry to f6 and f7 and buy necron’s armour and giant sword” this isn’t what the game is supposed to be.
I absolutely agree with this. People in the early game should try to use items they have already unlocked to beat a floor, and your setup is a great way for a berserk to beat f7 without buying a carry. The problem is that dungeons require a team, and if you don’t have a team of friends to do it with, you will often get kicked for having a “bad” setup, even if you are much more competent than another player with a “good” setup. The people you have to convince if you want these setups to be used are the people in party finder.

If you look at other successful games you can see what I’m talking about. For a game like TF2 there’s many loadout combinations like soda popper, mad milk and candy cane, air strike, gunboats and escape plan. There isn’t one set meta. Of course, stock is the most consistent but it doesn’t mean it’s always better.
In the early game, there is a bit more diversity. The best example is shadow fury - felthorn reaper - bouquet of lies, which are three weapons at a similar point in the game that all have different uses and actually get used.

This game has devolved into “giant sword and necron’s armor and golden/diamond head is the best and if anyone disagrees they are a horrible and inconsiderate person and should be burned at the stake”. Personally I think this game has so much potential. The item combinations you can create are literally endless but it’s just 3/4 necron’s, golden/diamond head and a giant sword.
Nobody is burning anyone at the stake here lmao
The item combinations you can create are endless but most of them are just bad, and most good combinations are still outclassed by the meta combinations. However, there are in fact multiple combinations that are good. Sf/gs/claymore are all accepted for a dps sword (obviously claymore is the best, them gs, then sf, but you won’t be kicked for using one of them at the appropriate level), necron and fb both work for armor (some people will disagree here, but seriously fb does not suck), lion/giraffe/edrag/gdrag are all good pets. There are options available.

Such potential wasted on a lack of creativity and the willingness to walk out of their comfort zone by the community
In part, the lack of gear diversity is caused by the community, but it’s caused even more by the lack of alternative gear provided by hypixel. There is no other armor set that can compare to storm in dungeons, for example, nor any other mage or healing item to compete with hype. Alternative setups just can’t be as good, so they don’t get used, and that isn’t the community’s fault.
