Step two – Sew the darts on the back of the pants, then sew both back pieces together at center back.

Step three – Sew front and back of the pants together at the side seams. Leave the right side open up to the notch for the zipper.

Step four – Sew front and back of the pants together along the inseam.

Step five – Sew the front facing to the front window of the bodice, then turn the facing over to the inside.

Step six – Attach and sew the zipper at center front to join both sides of the front bodice.

Step seven – Blind stitch the front facing to the zipper tape on the inside of the bodice.

Step eight – Sew the front and back bodices together at the shoulder seams.

Step nine – Sew the front and back bodices together at the left side seam. Leave the right side seam open for the side zipper.

Step ten – Attach the bodice to the pants and sew them together along the waistline.

Step eleven – Add the zipper to the right side seam, leaving 1/2″ seam allowance above at the armscye for the sleeve.

Step twelve – Sew a basting stich around the sleeve cap, then sew the sleeve at the inseam.

Step thirteen – Set in the sleeve and sew around the armscye.

Step fourteen – Sew both collar pieces together across the top and around the sides.

Step fifteen – Hem the side edges of the collar band to create the casing.

Step sixteen – Sew the top of the collar band onto the collar, leaving the sides open and trimming the seam allowance.

Step seventeen – Sew one side of the collar band to the outside of the neckline.

Step eighteen – Turn the other side of the collar band to the inside of the neckline, then stitch in the ditch.

Step nineteen – Use a safety pin to get the ribbon through the collar band casing.

Step twenty – Hem all edges of the peplum and sew onto the waistline by top stitching around the top edge.
