CANADIAN CONSUMER INSIGHTS: Our latest Canadian Marketing Association podcast shares many new insights on how Canadians are feeling and what brands can do to help and deliver on their needs.I thoroughly enjoyed my latest CMA Connect conversation with Ben Tarr, President, and Tahir Ahmad, Chief Strategy Officer of Leo Burnett Canada about their HumanKind Study.💡 After two years where the tough economy and other challenges had Canadians feeling beaten down and like we lost a lot of control, we've now decided to re-emerge and take back control. It's an encouraging mindshift and powerful insight for brands.💡 The study now includes data from the U.S, which led to interesting learning on differences between Canadians and Americans. You can learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gkdQe5kg#canadianconsumers #cmaconnect #marketing #research #consumerinsights #brands

Loved this session - especially when Ben & Tahir spoke of how brands need to be ready and need to look at how they can help Canadians with their concerns. At the end, the advice of "Be a better human" - yes, that really resonated with me Alison Simpson

Starting the week on a humourous note. As we start June, mid-year performance reviews are fast approaching. They offer a great way to celebrate contributions and provide support and encouragement for development areas. Or, you could take this approach. Hopefully, you'll see the value in making time instead.#leadership #performancereviews #professionaldevelopment #humour

Feel Good Friday: The terrific advice from Rachel Accurso at an NYU Stern School of Business commencement will make you feel good and also remind you of the power we all have when we show up and take action. It's six minutes well spent. Here are some tidbits that resonated for me...🌟 "A lot of us think we’re not good enough. That we can’t act until we hit some ideal level of knowledge. It’s not true. You don’t need to wait for anyone else to show up." 🌟 "When you see a need or a way that the world could be better use the unique talents you have to serve the world. We don’t know what will happen but we guarantee nothing will change if we don’t try."🌟"You don’t need to be the smartest. Or the coolest. Or have the most connections. It’s the people who keep showing up and taking action that make the difference."🌟 Failing is part of the journey. Learn from it then try again. It will pay off. #greatadvice #perspective #leadership https://lnkd.in/gtbF79Yv

Starting the week on a humourous and meditative note. With a very busy week ahead, one way I'll be countering stress is with meditation (and possibly ice-cream 😉). Meditation provides many powerful professional benefits including...🧘♀️ It counteracts stress by activating the body’s “relaxation response.” Just a few minutes of meditation prompts physiological changes that help put you in a more calm, centered state.🧘♀️ Meditation Enhances focus and attention.🧘♀️ It boosts creativity and problem-solving, as well as mental clarity and intuition.🧘♀️ Meditation builds Emotional Intelligence (EQ) by strengthening areas of the brain responsible for emotional regulation.🧘♀️ It increases productivity and energy.🧘♀️ Meditation promotes innovation.#humour #healthandwellness #perspective #stressmanagement #innovationhack #meditation

AN INTERNET MINUTE IN 2024. I always find this annual view intriguing and this year is no exception. Once again, the time we spend online has increased -- by 30% in the last year. Here are some of the highlights...🚀 It's been a year of explosive growth for TikTok — up from 167M videos watched each minute in 2023 to 625M videos now🚀 Snap Inc. also saw significant growth — with 3.5M SnapChats now created each minute vs 2M in 2023 (Note: The B in the infographic should be an M)🚀 Google Searches also continue to grow, up from 5.9M to 6.3M in 2024If you want to check out how an Internet Minute has changed since 2015, I’ve included a link in my Comments. Not surprisingly, it’s pretty remarkable.#internetminute #online #consumerbehaviours #marketing #onlineresearch

Feel Good Friday. Working with my amazing team at the Canadian Marketing Association definitely leads to feeling good, especially when we come together in person. This week we had a terrific business update, got to know one another better with an inspiring “poncho challenge” and celebrated with our very own ice-cream truck.Members of our senior team also raised a toast that evening to the new Marketing Legends at the AMA Toronto event. #marketing #talentedteam #feelgoodfriday

Starting the week on a humourous note and reminding us that change is part of a successful career, especially in marketing. Being curious, having an open mind, being willing to experiment - and learning from the inevitable mistakes that come with experimentation - were some of the takeaways shared at our inaugural Canadian Marketing Association Marketing Week last week. Understanding that the fundamentals of marketing - and soft skills - remain mission critical as we're embracing change are also key. Marketers knowledge of people is an important super power that can drive innovation and grow businesses and brands. While change is challenging, it's also an exhilarating time to be in the marketing profession. Coming together with nearly 2,000 marketers last week to discuss, debate and learn together reminded us that our future is very bright.#marketing #futureproofing #marketingcommunications #humour #brand #canadianconsumers
